Aims and Scope

The Journal of Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems – JSDEWES is an international journal dedicated to the improvement and dissemination of knowledge on methods, policies and technologies for increasing the sustainability of development by de-coupling growth from natural resources and replacing them with knowledge based economy, taking into account its economic, environmental and social pillars, as well as methods for assessing and measuring sustainability of development, regarding energy, transport, water, environment and food production systems and their many combinations.

Target Readership

The journal is intended for researchers, academics, engineers, professionals, decision-makers and policymakers working in sustainable development and in the analysis, design, operation and governance of energy, water, environmental, transport and food-production systems and their interactions.

Review Article

The journal may also publish Editorials prepared or invited by the Editor-in-Chief, Guest Editors or other authorised contributors. Editorials are not normally open to unsolicited submission and may follow an editorial assessment process appropriate to their purpose and content.

These article types are subject to initial editorial assessment and external peer review in accordance with Peer Review Policy.
