SDEWES Centre

MEMBERSHIP

According the Statute of SDEWES centre every natural and legal person can, under the same circumstances apply for the membership.

The members shall sign a membership admittance form. Membership admittance form obliges the signee to honor the provisions of the Statute and other SDEWES center by-laws and documents, as well as the decisions of the SDEWES center bodies.

Members of the SDEWES centre are:

Regular members,
Supporting members,
Honorary members.

Regular members

Regular member of the SDEWES Centre can be a physical or a legal person who is participating in performing activities of the centre.
Regular membership application is submitted to the Management Board and is gained upon approval of the Management Board.

Regular members of the SDEWES Centre pay a membership fee:

Full membership fee for current year (expires on the 31st of December): 500 EUR
Student membership fee for current year (expires on the 31st of December): 300 EUR (authors who are invited in SDEWES Conference special sessions are not eligible to apply for reduced fee)

SDEWES Conference participants who settled their Conference fee receive one year complimentary membership in SDEWES Centre.

The terms under which a IC SDEWES members can have the SDEWES Conference fee waived:

if their membership is active, the membership fee settled by May 15 the latest, and have not yet used the waiver at other SDEWES conferences

Membership payments received after May 15 can be used only as a fee waiver for the next, SDEWES2014 Conferece!

Note that the membership fee is NON-REFUNDABLE! In case of having the membership used for conference fee waiver and canceling the conference participation, refund is made only to eventual additional conference payments (accomp. persons, additional papers, etc...)

Supporting members

The status of a supporting member of the SDEWES Centre can be granted to a physical and a legal person which is regularly supporting the development and advancement of the Centre and realization of the Centre’s program by significant financial and other contributions. The status of a supporting member of the SDEWES Centre is gained upon the invitation of the Management Board.

Corporate membership fee:
Would mostly depend on the type of sponsorship package that a certain member would choose. For more info on the sponsorship possibilities click here.

Honorary members

The status of an honorary member of the SDEWES Centre can be bestowed upon the person with outstanding merit for the work, development and realization of the objectives and tasks of the SDEWES Centre.

Honorary members and supporting members are exempt from paying the membership fee.

Regular members shall be entitled:

to elect and be elected into the governing bodies of the SDEWES Centre,
to take part in the activities of the SDEWES Centre,
to propose and initiate discussion on the topics relevant to the activity of the SDEWES Centre,
to have insight into all activities of the SDEWES Centre and into the information material that the SDEWES Centre has collected and prepared,
to participate in the sessions of the SDEWES Centre Assembly.

Supporting members and honorary members have the same rights as regular members, yet without the decision-making power and cannot elect and be elected in the governing bodies of the Association.

Benefits for the members:

SDEWES Centre members have access to Proceedings from all past SDEWES Conferences.
If membership fee is settler until 15.5.2013., member can have his/her SDEWES2013 Conference fee waived.

Corporate members have various promotional and scientific benefits. Depending on the sponsorship package corporate members can have certain number of person fee waived at the SDEWES Conference. Also from promotional point of view all SDEWES promo materials can contain corporate member s logo, corporate member s promotional materials can be distributed to other SDEWES members and there is a possibility for corporate members to present themselves on SDEWES Conference (depending on the sponsorship package).

The members who are also SDEWES centre Management Board members, Local Organizing Committee members, Supervisory Board members and International Scientific Committee members, as well as the Scientific Advisory Board chairman are exempt from paying the membership fee during their mandate.

Members of the Association are obliged:

to act in the cause of realizing and advancing the objectives of the SDEWES Center,
to give proposals, opinions and observations concerning the SDEWES Center and governing bodies activities,
to warn the Management Board in written form in case of discontinuities in Statute implementation,
to propose appointment and relieving of duty to the Assembly concerning Chairman of the SDEWES Center, Management Board members and Supervisory Board members,
to regularly pay the membership fee.

Membership in the SDEWES centre shall cease by:

resigning from the membership,
expulsion; in case a member has, through his acting to the contrary of the provisions of this Statute and other documents, caused serious harm to the interests and reputation of the SDEWES centre,
lapsing; in case a member has within a certain period failed to fulfill his financial obligations towards the SDEWES Center, as defined by the Management Board.
